Four steps to assess big purchases (and get what you want)

September 16, 2021

Preparing to make some big purchases? Here are four tips to help you shop confidently and get what you want.

There are two things we’re all about here at Our Bill Pickle: keeping it real and sharing this space with those who can provide perspective on matters outside our expertise.

Today, I’m sharing a special guest post…from my husband, Jeff.

Although Jeff does not have a blog, he does have a lot of knowledge in a unique area: procurement.

He’s been working in the industry since 2016. I’ll be honest: there are definitely elements of his work that go over my head. But there have also been times where his training has helped us a great deal. This is particularly true when it comes to making big purchases.

Today, Jeff is sharing some simple steps that will help you assess big purchases, shop confidently and get what you want.

The United States response to COVID-19: It’s not all bad! (guest post)

July 2, 2020

The United States response to COVID-19: Three things some states did to slow the spread and make a difference.

There are two things we’re all about here at Our Bill Pickle: keeping it real and sharing this space with those who can provide perspective on matters outside our expertise.

Today I am thrilled to have Melanie from Partners In Fire here with a guest post on the United States response to COVID-19.

Specifically, things that have gone well.

Before reading this, I didn’t know if anything was going well in the United States when it came to COVID-19.

In fact, apart from the stimulus cheques, I did not know much about the US response apart from the statistics we see daily.

Melanie does a great job talking about some of the things I didn’t really know about the US response. If this is something you’ve wondered about, this post is for you.

Seven steps women in their 30s can take toward financial independence

Why is financial independence important for women? And what can a woman in her 30s do to get there?

It’s fair to say this is something I’ve been thinking about a lot, having just joined the big 3-0 club in September. So when Catherine K. Burke from Online Payday Loan Consolidation reached out and asked if she could share some of her thoughts on the topic, I was all for it.

Are you a woman in your 30s, wondering what you can do to plan for a better financial future? This post is for you.

Why estate planning matters (not matter how old you are)

There are two things we’re all about here at Our Bill Pickle: keeping it real and sharing this space with those who can provide perspective on financial matters outside our areas of expertise.

Today, Catherine K. Burke from Online Payday Loan Consolidation is here with a guest post sharing how her friend, Alice, benefitted from a family member’s decision to be smart about estate planning.

If estate planning is something you’ve been thinking about — or, if you’re like me, putting off — this is the post for you.
